View Article  Banner Week for Flakes
Those kooky old vegephiles at Peta finally decided to let it all hang out.

They appeared in New York today - well, their serfs did - dressed as Ku Klux Klansmen.  I wonder if Grand Beagle Newkirk was present to rally the storm-troopers.

The thing is, the joke's on Peta.  Walking around dressed in what I presume is the new official uniform ties in so nicely with their profiling of 'pit bulls' - not to mention their owners - that it makes this observer wonder why they waited so long to 'come out' and say it loud.

Tell it like it is, girls.

In other news, the 'charity' (ha ha ha! snorfffit! gezeegle! wahoon!) won a prestigious Award:

The American Language Association has announced the winner of its coveted "Doublethink" Award, presented to the individual or group which best illustrates the act of holding two contradictory beliefs simultaneously and fervently believing both.

Lassie, Get Help has the rest of the story.

Congratulations to Ingrid and the crew.  Here's hoping for more like this in future!

It seems that the hypocrisy biz pays well.  The gang is moving to spiffy new headquarters in Washington, DC.  The wascally wabbits at the CCF are on a mission to warn the new neighbours about what to expect once the flakes move in.

We anxiously await Peta's kill numbers for 2008, but in the meantime, Terrierman refreshes our memory about their success in 2007

View Article  PEIVMA Discussing Same Anti Tail/Ear Crop as New Brunswick

Here we go again people, for those who wished they had known about this in New Brunswick:

At the 2008 Annual General Meeting of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association, the majority of members passed a motion. This motion stated that it would be considered unprofessional conduct for a veterinarian in New Brunswick to perform cosmetic surgery on any animal, effective March 28, 2009.

This includes:

  1. Tail docking in dogs, horses, and cows.
  2. Tail nicking and setting in horses.
  3. Ear cropping in dogs.
  4. Declawing in species other than domestic cats.

Here's your notice!

It has been brought to our attention that the Cosmetic Surgery Issue will be on the  PEIVMA agenda for discussion at their upcoming Annual General Meeting Nov 1, 2008.  Please be proactive and take the time to write and voice your concerns.

The situation in New Brunswick has become much more serious than anticipated. All were led to believe (even Breeder Vets who were at the meeting) that they could still do dew claws/tails on their own puppies. At the beginning of this week, breeders were informed by the Animal Protection Officer that if such procedures are done within the province, they will investigate and charges under the Criminal Code could ensue.

Please take the time to help.  It has been less than a month since this began in New Brunswick and it is already starting to spread.
